About this stay

Delta Hotels by Marriott Burnaby Conference Centre is a 21-storey tower at 4331 Dominion Street in Burnaby, beside Grand Villa Casino, in a complex that Destination Vancouver lists with nine food and drink outlets. The casino, run by Gateway Casinos, covers 100,000 square feet with more than 1,000 slot machines. The hotel sits off Exit 29 of the Trans-Canada Highway, about 8 km from downtown Vancouver, and parking is free. The conference centre has twelve meeting rooms, the largest seating 1,000 theatre-style. Atlas Steak + Fish is on the second floor. There is a hot tub, a sauna and a fitness centre. Dogs and cats are welcome, two per room, for a fee, and guests must be 19 to check in. No SkyTrain station is a short walk away.

  • Grand Villa Casino in the same complex, with over 1,000 slot machines
  • 21 floors and about 200 rooms and suites
  • Free on-site parking with EV charging
  • Atlas Steak + Fish on the second floor, nine food and drink outlets in the complex
  • Hot tub, sauna and fitness centre
  • Dogs and cats accepted, two per room, for a fee

Our take

This 21-storey Delta at 4331 Dominion Street shares its complex with Grand Villa Casino, which Destination Vancouver describes as 100,000 square feet with more than 1,000 slot machines, and nine food and drink outlets around it. That is the reason to book: a casino night, an event in the twelve meeting rooms, or a road trip leaving Highway 1 at Exit 29, with free parking. The weak spot is transit: no SkyTrain station is a short walk, so without a car I would sleep near Metrotown or downtown instead. Check-in is for guests 19 and over. Guests rate it 8.5 across 138 reviews. I would choose it for one or two nights by car, not for a Vancouver city break on foot.

  • ✓Dogs and cats are accepted, two per room at most, with a fee charged per stay; service animals are exempt.
  • ✓Atlas Steak + Fish is on the second floor of the complex, so dinner works without moving the car.
  • ✓The Grand Villa gaming floor is for 19 and over, the legal age in British Columbia, and the hotel itself checks in guests 19 and over: teenagers travel with their parents, never alone here.
  • ✓Keep the car: parking is free on site, with EV charging, and every trip into Vancouver without one starts with a bus or a long walk to the SkyTrain.
  • ✓After a long drive, the wellness options are the hot tub and the sauna, next to a fitness centre.

Why we love it

  • Grand Villa Casino in the same complex
  • Free parking off Highway 1
  • Dogs and cats accepted, two per room
  • Hot tub and sauna after a long drive
Why guests love it

Free parking and Exit 29 of Highway 1 make this 21-storey tower a practical stop for a family on the road, not a holiday base. The casino next door is for adults 19 and over, and the hotel requires the person checking in to be 19 too, so the complex's evening life is not for children. Its restaurants do make dinner possible without driving, with Atlas Steak + Fish on the second floor. The wellness options are the hot tub and the sauna, which suit parents more than children. Dogs and cats are accepted, two per room at most, for a fee. Without a car, days in Vancouver are slow, because no SkyTrain station is a short walk. I would book it for one or two nights on a road trip, or when one parent has an event in the conference centre, and look near Metrotown or downtown for a longer city break.
