Our take
The Residence Inn by Marriott Whitby suits longer stays: studios and suites, some with kitchenettes, a free hot breakfast, an indoor pool, a hot tub, free Wi-Fi and parking, and a pet-friendly policy. It sits in Whitby, east of Pickering, so a car is the easiest way around Durham Region. My advice: choose a suite with a kitchenette for stays of several nights, and plan a drive or GO train for trips into Toronto.
- ✓If traveling with a pet, confirm the specific pet policy and any associated fees when booking.
- ✓Make use of the free hot breakfast to start your day without extra cost.
